Flexible bookmarklists: your friendly listing of Delicious-tagged items

February 9th, 2009

A post over on the CILIP blog got me thinking about a couple of minor tweaks to the software behind digitalgovuk (which, lacking inspiration, I’ve called Bookmarklist.

Rather than hard coding the base tag, we could make the URL a bit more hackable, and thus generate the same kind of friendly-looking listing of Delicious bookmarks with thumbnails for virtually any keyword. So give it a go:

Enter a keyword below to generate your customised bookmarklist of tagged items from Delicious:

You can get the code to make your own version or tweak the look and feel – see the link in the footer. Enjoy!

    This is great.

I almost got the same results as with the kind assistance you gave for http://youthoffer.plings.net – but one minor this to note is that the search keyword is now included in the tag cloud…

Thanks Steve! I’ve rolled this fix and a few others including a feature contributed by Exmosis into a 1.1 release, now available from http://sandbox.dius.gov.uk/code/
